Shrine Goods
Since ancient times, Japanese people have put ofuda (amulet) inside their houses and carried omamori (charm) with them because they believe that they will be protected from a variety of misfortunes since the spirit of Kami is believed to lie within the ofuda and omamori. Rituals of purification and prayer are performed for each ofuda and omamori by the Shinto priest at Toshogu Shrine.
